Vickie Lynn Gregory, 76, of Pittsburg, KS died at 1:47 a.m. Monday, June 24, 2024, at her home following a long illness.
Vickie was born March 26, 1948, in Columbus, KS, the daughter of Dean and Norma (Napier) Strahan. She has been a part of this community for the last 35 years. Vickie also spent time in Hot Springs, Arkansas, and Coffeyville, Kansas. She was a graduate of Coffeyville High School in 1966.
On September 13, 1969, Vickie married James "Joe" Gregory in Miami, OK; he survives at the home. Vickie worked as a paraprofessional for USD #250 in Pittsburg, KS, a payroll associate for NPC in Pittsburg, KS, and was a homemaker. Vickie was a member of the Methodist Church in Pittsburg, KS, and a member of the Daughters of the Nile Organization.
Survivors include her husband; sons, James Joe Gregory Jr. and wife Talaina of Arkansas, and Brian Dean Gregory and wife Lisa of Girard, KS; her mother, Norma Strahan of Pittsburg, KS; uncle, Jack Napier and wife Pearl of Texas; 14 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Vickie was preceded in death by her father and brother, Dale Duane Strahan.
Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers the family asks expressions of sympathy to be in the form of memorials to the SEK Humane Society.
